I recently bought the Asus UL30A-X5 through Amazon and I am very happy with my decision. Let me start first by a brief explanation of what I was looking for a new laptop, because I think the reader with further information to decide if this laptop is suitable for them to give. I am currently a student with a limited budget and was looking for the following:

1) Less than $ 700 in price

2) Screen size between 13-14 ”

3) Windows 7 is already installed (I did not want an old computer with Vista that I should manually update me to win 7

4) At least 320 GB HD, 3 GB DDR3 RAM and a Pentium Core 2 Duo SU7300 processor at or above

5) and thin Lightweight

6) and 4:00 of solid battery life. Although a netbook offers a small size and easy portability, I do not want the power and performance to sacrifice for everyday tasks. On the other hand I do not want large “desktop replacement” laptop that would be a hassle to carry and difficult to take with me when I was away from home. In short, I wanted a laptop that a good combination of power, performance offered, and the size of my money. That being said, here’s my impression so far after two days of use of this computer:

Advantages

Performance: Able to smoothly and effectively deal with everything that I wanted to do at this point. It is even faster than my 3 year old 15.6 “Dell Inspiron I originally paid $ 1300 at the time.
-Size and weight: Could not be happier with the elegance and lightness. It is even more beautiful in person than in pictures.
-Quality: Some people may think that you sacrifice quality for a laptop with these features for under $ 700. I think this computer is very well constructed, and argue that the defense of more expensive models, or brand name in the same class.
Warranty: The warranty covers accidental extra piece of mind, which is something not often included at no extra cost in other phones.
-Keyboard: Very easy to use great design!
-Mousepad: I love the texture touchpad on this model. It is difficult to see in the picture, but the touchpad is not really a traditional “path”, but many small points that follow the movement of your finger. I also love the extra features like the ability to scroll up or down a page with two fingers anywhere on the road.

Disadvantages:

-The only thing I’m not too happy with the small (or “minor” compared to my larger notebook computer) mouse buttons below the touchpad. This is something that takes some getting used to but it is harder on the buttons on my old laptop. Again, this is my first 13.3 “laptop, so it is probably just the nature of a small laptop and I’ll get used to it over time, but it’s just something I wanted to know if you are in the transition from an ideal notebook for a minor.

In general, I could not be happier with my purchase. Of course, there are better on the laptop market as some would claim, but only if you’re willing to spend $ 1000 +. certainly deserves this computer “5 stars” and I think everyone is looking for an affordable, ultra-portable laptop with powerful performance will be very happy too.
