We have several laptops in our home. Our oldest daughter has an Apple laptop through the school. I have a Dell Inspiron by work. I have an ASUS 1000H netbook for me have an Acer 1410 processor SU3500 for our youngest daughter and an old 15 “Toshiba for my wife. I bought the 13.3″ Lenovo Edge with SU7300 processor as a replacement of the My wife’s computer.

She had complained about poor battery life and a bad signal WiFi Toshiba for months, but he did not like the small screen either Acer 11.6 “or 10.1″ ASUS . She also complained of pain in the wrist. This device is regarded as the best of worlds. Lightweight, long battery life, nice screen, amazing keyboard, and a reasonable price. We do not have the laptop for very long, but my wife seems to really like it, especially the keyboard, TrackPoint, and more mouse buttons.

Build quality seems much better than the Acer, but there seems to be a soft flex in the lid when you open and close it. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to perform initial configuration. In about 30 minutes I had configured WiFi drivers had the computer to find our all-in-one HP printer (the first , CD’s most urgent) and downloaded and installed OpenOffice, Cloud Panda Antivirus, Free PrevX3. 0, McAfee SiteAdvisor and IOBit Advanced SystemCare (especially for Smart Defrag and SmarTrams).

It probably has more to do with Windows 7 Professional Edge than the Lenovo. The only minor negative I can think of are: 1) the touchpad seems to be less sensitive than my Asus, although I do not try to update drivers or settings, and 2) the 32 – 7 bit Windows limits you to 3 GB of RAM, though 3 GB DDR3 RAM is more than sufficient for the needs of my wife. Very pleased with the purchase so far.

Still debating whether AMD can release be better value if you do not mind the battery life decreases. I read some recent reviews of laptops Lenovo complain of bloating-ware, but personally have not noticed anything of ‘flagrant in the Edge Lenovo. Especially compared to the HP laptop that I had before my netbook Asus or Toshiba Satellite that Edge has been replaced.

UPDATE : Been using Edge for a few weeks and very happy with everything except the touchpad. Touchpad works much like a normal mouse, but virtually no multi-touch functionality is usable. Shame Considering the usefulness of multi-touch features on my ASUS 1000H Netbook (toggle between windows, zoom in and out, rotate, vertical and horizontal scrolling page back and forward, etc.) Update 2: Departure for touchpad hanging. I am capable of more features multi-touch. Tapping gestures beautiful work. Scrolling and paging works fine, but sometimes a few tests. Still not been running to work properly. Multi-touch seems to work, but takes time and effort.
