Toshiba has announced a new line of Tecra and Portégé business notebooks with the latest Intel processors and a battery life of up to 11 hours.

Toshiba said the new series of notebooks build on which the company his previous R700 ultraportable notebook developed. The three new notebooks announced the Portege R830 are the Tecra R840 and the Tecra R850. All are equipped with the second generation of Intel video RAM core series processors, 7,200 u/min disks or SSDs and optionally separate AMD Radeon video card with up to 1 GB. Other standard features include a number of standard input/output-ports including USB 3.0, eSATA, DisplayPort or HDMI, ExpressCard, Gigabit Ethernet, and docking station connections as well as other technologies such as such as Intel wireless display technology (Wi-di).

Honeycomb structure, which makes them strong and easily was the notebook itself with a glass fibre reinforced housing with a rib. The Portege R830 features in particular a magnesium-alloy casing.

Tecra R840 has a 14-inch display; It is 25% thinner and easier than its predecessor the Tecra M11 20 percent. It is available with the second generation Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 multi core processors. Toshiba prices the lifetime of the battery up to 11 hours with an SSD. The Tecra R840 starts at $899.

Toshiba Tecra R850

The Tecra R850 series is similar to the R840 in design, except it has a larger 15.6 inch display. From $879, it is available with Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 multi core processors. It comes with integrated Intel HD graphics or 1 GB AMD Radeon HD 6450M graphics. With an SSD, it can reach up to 10 hours of battery life.

Toshiba Portege R830


From $889, says Toshiba Portege R830 the thinnest 13-inch high performance laptop with a built-in DVD drive is. It begins at 3.1 pounds and is only one inch thin. It uses a new technology called Intel airflow technology, the chips means the heat inside the computer in a row to the cooling relief situates. It is rated for more than 10 hours of battery life.

Consumer models

Toshiba is also some consumers available versions of the above notebooks, the Msising some features but of course are at a lower price. The Portege R835 does not have an ExpressCard slot, a docking station connection, and only a one-year warranty instead of the three year, which is standard on the rest of the announced notebooks.
