Very impressive: Apple MacBook Pro MC026LL/A 15.4-inch laptop
I’m not a player if this review can be useful for those looking for a computer to play games. I worked as a professional software developer / architect for 17 years. I started with MS-DOS 2.0 and Microsoft have mounted a wave throughout Vista 64 and I got a couple of years with UNIX.

I personally owns or has worked with computers from Dell, HP, Compaq, IBM. I have heard of Apple products, but mostly dismissed them as more toys than tools. (I was not alone in this perspective.) I love Microsoft, but after working with him for a good part of 20 years, I decided to watch something else.
I never thought I’d buy an Apple still there. I am impressed to say the least, and I see Apple as a serious tool that is a cool toy.
Advantages
Light – Probably the lightest laptop I’ve ever worked with or belonging to
Solid – Normally, when you get the laptops of 15.4 or more, the chassis flex is obvious that you can see the bend and squeaks. But because of its unitary construction and lightweight aluminum MacBook feels good when you need to move it. I do not crack and there is no significant curvature in lifting.
Battery life – it all goes and goes and goes … In fact, I see life to 4 hours on battery is fully charged. My old computer has never exceeded 1.75 hours.
Size – It is very thin and the performance is very comfortable with. I had a 17 “and everything I like the big screen are uncomfortable to carry as a book.
Magnetic Clasp – When closing the lid of the owner is rewarded with a solid thud instead of “cracking” click “you hear about so many other laptops that a mechanical lock plastic screen and use. Opening monitor is also enjoyable. You put your thumb under the lip and a lift. The laptop can slide a bit on smooth surfaces, but the lid is smooth and controlled.
Keyboard – This is a great job. The Home, Page Up, Page Down, the legendary “All keys”? Not necessary. A little research and practice and you will see that these “missing” are the key functions of the keyboard and I do not regret at all. Secondly, the keyboard key “float (that rattle you hear when you stroke your finger gently back and forth on a laptop keyboard) is almost totally absent. So if you type does not look like your crushed cotton to plastic and does not disturb your neighbors. Key throw is short but very enjoyable. Another thing I like about the keyboard is that you do not feel that you will break if you touch the keyboard is a bit heavy.
Display – The display is a work of art. It is not only the look, but Flex has been reduced to almost nothing. It feels very solid and you feel you do not have to worry about tilting the screen corner. The glass cover on the screen LED backlit LCD is great. You can actually clean the screen without distorting color LCD screen. Besides automatically decreases in low light and the lights on the keyboard in the same low light conditions. Is a nice touch. The brightness of the screen is as bright as my screen desk in full light.
Touchpad – Anyone who has ever tried to touch pads on other computers (I hate them for general use) will love touchpad. It works just like the iPhone (except it is reversed for obvious reasons – you’re not touching the screen). The touch is light and very smooth. Make sure that the entire touch pad button is great, it took me some time to get used to it and now I’m almost push a hole through the Dell touchpad before I realize I click on the buttons. I have no problem with accidental contact that moves my cursor to where I type.
Quiet - I can still hear the fans. It makes me wonder if they ever work.
Finally SuperDrive DVD -! No cup holders will slide on the side of my laptop. Simply slide player and you’re done. It works like the CD in a car. It is easy to remove screen or a key on the keyboard.
The finish – the best thing I’ve ever seen. The only thing I saw was a very small gap between the door ExpressCard slot Card/34. But you really try to see up close.
Operating System – WOW. Fast, free anti-virus, stable: it works. I will not be going into the operating system, but I will once I understood how things Apple OS X does say, is very attractive. Not to mention she sleeps and wakes up faster than anything I have ever worked. Open the monitor and he was sitting to say “Come, I’m tired of waiting for you”.
Built-in accelerometers – Not knowing what they are good, but they are cool. Like the iPhone MacBook Pro has three accelerometers. There is a Stanford Laptop Orchestra MacBook Pro to make music using the accelerometer.
No fresh air vents – I do not like the ports of fresh air in the bottom of laptops. They are easily connected and they suck fuzz and dust in the heat sink. With my old computer ports of fresh air has been placed under the computer exactly what he puts on your legs. The result was you ran a risk of overheating the computer. The MacBook Pro draws cooling air through the keyboard and has a slippery, making it much better on your knees.
CONS :
Chassis – If it is a brilliant piece of technology, there are some very minor problems.
A: Your computer must always look at both hands. If this is true of all laptops that you want to make it a little more important in this area. The metal through the Ethernet port on the machine is very thin which was necessary to adjust to taking a bang on the side rather close the laptop. So if you open the screen and enter the laptop with your left hand and your thumb on that Jack could you Dent metal around him. It does not warp or twist the entire frame, it is too strong, but we could see a quick dip in another piece of metal right.
Two : The metal battery / HDD cover is very thin and sometimes seems to hang under the lip of the chassis. You should look carefully to see and not all the time. I do not think that is deformed or bent, but simply the natural flexibility of aluminum.
Click touchpad – Although I love the touchpad (in fact I no longer use the mouse when I’m programming on the nature of the software). If you try to click on the above road (closest to the screen), then the force required to move up a bit.
Price ? – No, not really a scam. Some have complained about the price. Three and a half years ago I paid $ 5700 for a Dell 9100 (all the bells and whistles, Windows XP Pro, Office Pro, the works). This is a great computer that has been put to pasture and my family uses it. I’ve only had two problems with it. The skip buttons to fear from Mexico (a fly key, once you press it while typing, alias broken key) Dell replaced the keyboard without any problem and the hard drive crashed and had to be replaced. Dell Computer when the cost of more than double the new MacBook Pro does now and the only thing he has on Mac (old technology does not stand) is it display is 1920 x 1200 by compared to the Mac screen 1440 x 900. When I power the most 15.4 notebooks Apple sells now, I pay half the price of Dell and Apple does a lot more and better quality overall.
To summarize, it is a success as engineers, designers and developers should feel proud. There is some room for improvement, but these improvements are at a level that other laptops have a lot to improve just to reach the shortcomings of Apple.
I could go on but I think that is enough. Apple has really developed an excellent product both hardware and software and I highly recommend it.
